• When I switched to WordPress 3.2, all the paragraphing in my posts disappeared. I do not find this desirable, as it makes them harder to read.

In addition, the “read more” function stopped working.

How do I correct these two things? (I use the Mystique theme)

  • Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of assistance.

    An example is https://www.kirkvillewesleyan.org/pastorsdesk/2011/07/men%e2%80%99s-fishing-retreat/
This post had both multiple paragraphs and a “read more” marker. These all show up on the “edit post” page but on my screen when I visit the actual page on my blog, there are no paragraph separations other than where the gallery is and the “read more” option is not there either.

Sorry I cannot give a solution as I have this exact same problem. What is going on?

There are paragraph breaks shown in both the visual editor and the html editor in the admin panel.

When I examine the database the paragraphs are not there but the basic line breaks are. I thought wordpress added the paragraphs back in later. Clearly this is happening for the editor in the admin panel but not on the actual site. This is not a template issue as even with one of the default templates active their are still no paragraphs.

See my code below copied directly from view source on my site. This all just loks like one big slab of text with no line breaks on the site.

    PLEASE HELP!

    Nicole

Same issue. Absolutely disastrous. I can not believe this was released. I am very cautious about waiting for updates to get their .1 revision, but this is severely burning me.

@pastorkelvin: this looks like a theme issue to me.

It this is a theme problem then please explain why the exact same problem exists when I use the default theme Twenty Eleven which comes with WordPress 3.2.1 or the previous default theme twenty ten?

This seems to be related to upgrading to 3.2.1 as I have a fresh install of 3.2.1 on a different server and the paragraphing is fine.

Please assist. I cannot do a fresh install for the existing site without a lot of trouble.

    Nicole

    @nicole:
You are absolutely right. I have two different websites. One of them has fresh install 3.2.1 and there is no issue what so ever. Other one however has the same issue because I upgraded it from older version.

It is not related to themes it is just a bug that needs tp be fixed urgently.

It’s not a bug. It is specific to your site.
