Parallax iOS/iPad

  • Hi there, I’m new to WordPress and have started creating a site with the Twenty Seventeen theme.

    I have noticed that the featured images on the home screen do not have the parallax effect on iOS. I have tried it only on an iPad Pro 9.7 inch. The main image on the home screen works with the parallax effect – but not the featured images.

    Is this a limitation of iOS? Is this likely to be fixed? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Which browser are you using & which iOS?

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for your reply. I’m using Safari with the latest version of iOS – version 11.2.6

    I haven’t made any code changes or anything like that, just the customised the theme in the normal way – via the UI.

    I should probably have asked, do the featured images need to conform to specific pixel dimensions?

    As I mentioned the parallax effect works fine in Chrome on Windows for the featured images, just not on iOS.

    The size of the featured images won’t be related to the parallax support.

    Does the main header image have the parallax effect, or is this effect missing entirely from your site?

    Try using the theme’s demo site and see if that has the issue: https://2017.wordpress.net/

    Hi Andrew, the main header on my site works fine on iPad, it’s just the featured images that don’t work.

    As suggested, I’ve tried the demo and can confirm that it behaves in the same way on the iPad – the header image has the parallax effect, but not the featured images.
