Is it possible to show only the name of the parent of the current submenu? I start at level 2 with a menu depth of 3 and trigger depth of 1. I use a navigation menu on the left. When i choose a child there, the right sidebar shows the split menu with only the subitens that are under that child. That’s ok, but i don’t see the parent name of the child above the subitems. When i use the option “Show Parent”, not only the name of the active child is shown but every child at the same level.

It would even be nicer if i could place a variabele that contains the name of the current child in the title of the widget

    Hi Mario,

In the latest version of JC Submenu (v0.8) you can add the template tag {{PARENT_TITLE}} in the split menu widget title to dynamically show the active menu title.

    Dr J,

I too would like to have the Parent act only as a title not a link to a summary of the posts.

Based on your instructions, I’ve added a split menu widget for each section of the menu and gave them each the title {{PARENT_TITLE}}. 4 categories = 4 split menu widgets. A lot to keep track of.

Would you consider a toggle in the menu dialogue box that allows us to select whether or not the menu item parent title should be a link?

    Hi,

If you create a menu like the following:

    |- Section 1
        |- cat 1.1
        |- cat 1.2
    |- Section 2
        |- cat 2.1
    |- Section 3
        |- cat 3.1
        |- cat 3.2

if you create a 1 split menu with the widget title {{PARENT_TITLE}} and choose not to show the parent.

The split menu widget should only output Section 1,Section2, or Section 3 depending on which section or cat you are viewing otherwise the widget will be hidden.

I Will get the parent title link added in the next update.

    Hope this helps

    Thank you James, yes.
