I am using your responsive plugin and am having a problem in situations where I have submenus.

    For example, on my site:

    https://www.EmailOverloadSolutions.com

I have a menu called “tips” which doesn’t have a page itself, and is just a placeholder for four submenus.

The problem is that you can actually select “tips” as a menu option in the mobile menu, which causes a 400 page not found error. You shouldn’t be able to select this top menu because it is just a “dummy page” that is just a placeholder for the submenus. For example, if you access my site on a regular desktop or laptop in non-mobile mode, if you hover over “tips” you can’t select it.. you just get a display of the four sub-menus.

But in the mobile version using this plugin, you can select the “tips” menu which causes page not found message.

Is there a way to configure the plugin to not allow you to select a top level menu that is just a placeholder for submenus?

    Thanks.

Any ideas on this menu/submenu issue?

    Thanks.

I have had the same problem today.

Noticed that this only happens when you have the ‘Menu Open Direction’ set to ‘Top’. But, if this setting is changed to any of the other options (i.e left or right), then clicking on the placeholder text simply closes the menu rather than linking to a 400 page not found error.

This is still not ideal – really the placeholder text should open the sub menus.

I too would appreciate if anyone has any ideas!

    Thanks

    Hi einstem,

I understand your problem. You mean to say clicking on tip menu it should not open it rather it should open sub menus. Take a look at the pro version of the plugin that ahs this functionality with lots of other functionality.

    Nirmal,

yes! If you select the “tips” top menu, you get a 400 page not found. But this isn’t an actual page in my menu – its only a placeholder for the submenu. if you view my site on a desktop/laptop where you get the regular (non-mobile) menu, then you can not even select the “tips” menu.. it just opens the submenus below it.

Is there any way to resolve this in the “free” version, or do I need to get the “paid” version to fix this?

Would changing the menu open direction to “left” or “right” solve it?

    Thanks.

    Michael
