My site is ExceptionalBusinessWriting.com The page Writing Tips has 3 child pages attached to it – they were set up with the Writing Tips page as their parent. Only problem is that when I create these pages, a new menu item also appears in the nav bar across the top. I don’t want nav bar links for these child pages. I have deleted the page titles for the 3 child pages, which removes the nav bar links, but I have a small vertical orange line for each of the child pages. Deleting the page titles also means that I cannot identify the child pages in the site page list. I am about to add several more child pages, which will make the problem worse. Is there a way to have a page title but not have it generate a nav bar link?

Have you created a custom menu, or are using the default menu system?

Hi Jerry. I am using the default menu system, that I assume is part of the Theme I have chosen…

That means that your new pages are probably added automatically to the main navigation. If your theme supports custom WordPress menus (Appearance>Menus) then you can create a menu that has only the pages you want, as well as rename the tabs if you don’t want theme to be the same as the page title. Here’s a video that shows the basics.

Thanks again, Jerry. I will have a look at the video…Neil
