• Hi, I tried looking for help in the past forums, but I didn’t understand anything anyone was suggesting.

    my website: https://www.autismaspergerconnections.org

the error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/53/5965353/html/wp-content/themes/custom-community/includes/admin/customizer-options.class.php on line 3652

how i got here: i was exploring my admin access to the website and making updates, then looked into themes, clicked on a selection update, and immediately this happened.

when going back in history i was able to get back to one of the pages of our site and i have its view source open, this is the only page i have!

i don’t understand what happened and i don’t understand how to get the website up and running again. Is there someone who can explain this in easy terms.

    unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/53/5965353/html/wp-content/themes/custom-community/includes/admin/customizer-options.class.php on line 3652

There is a problem with the custom-community theme. Use your ftp client or the file manager in your hosts control panel to rename the custom-community theme folder, then revisit your site at yoursite.com/wp-admin and the default WordPress theme should take over and let you back in.

You need to use FTP or Cpanel to access your site files on the server where your site is hosted.

    Looks like GoDaddy, so see:

    https://support.godaddy.com/help/article/4881/finding-your-hostingftp-login-or-user-name

Once you get connected, find the themes folder and rename that theme like this:

    wp-content
       themes
           custom-community.HOLD

That should let you login to your site again and then reinstall the theme from the dashboard.
