• Hi, I have, since this morning, the following error showing up on my website:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home/content/xx/xxxxx/html/websites/xxxxxxxx/wp-includes/functions.php on line 192

and this is the line of code in the php file:

    $mm = substr( $mysqlstring, 8, 2 ); // Mysql string Month

    Any one can help?

I have multiple sites affected by this eval64 hack and have been tearing my hair out over the past week. I’ve changed all passwords etc – in despair have deleted EVERYTHING and created a new database with new details, re-installed WP and started from scratch five times. Five times of building the same site…to see it hacked 5 times. I’ve read the wordpress links that are posted over and over by the mods, I can’t afford to pay anyone to sort it out and ‘m out of ideas. Have so far identified hacked files as root/wp-config.php, root/index.php, wp-includes/functions.php, themename/functions.php, themename/header.php, themename/index.php and themename/footer.php…there are probably more. Like everyone else, I clean them up only to have them reinfect a short time afterwards, getting the error about line 191 or 192, followed by a blank page. It’s very frustrating to search for help on this, only to find every thread closed with the same tired list of links, not very user friendly..if they work so well why not leave the thread open and let people share experiences? Hopefully this one will stay open for a bit until someone can really solve it. Are WP planning an update to tackle and block this horrible hack anytime soon?!

Swan, can you repost that within your own thread?
If you haven’t a thread on this topic, please can you create one?

Ok but it’s the same topic as this thread though? Isn’t one thread better where all experiences are listed rather than having them scattered everywhere with no follow up comments on to help?

No, we have a harder time identifying who’s having which issue if everyone uses the same thread. You ought to take your best efforts to make it easier for readers to identify your issue.

You’re also hidden away from forum volunteers who roam threads outside of this thread.

You can end up hijacking someone else’s thread too, as the symptoms for your issues may appear similar but are underlying different issues.

Also if everyone posts their issues in one thread, a not-so-nice atmosphere is created for volunteers where [no analogy available] everyone is shouting for help at the same time.

Ok – done, either way I really hope someone can help with this soon =(
