• Hello,

Since this morning I cannot vizualize https://www.marijkebillekens.nl anymore.

    Shown message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘$u5122a’ (T_VARIABLE) in /var/www/vhosts/marijkebillekens.nl/httpdocs/wp-includes/canonical.php on line 1

I have no knowledge of php files so I’m really helpless.
Can someone help me to solve the issue?

    Thanks in advance
    Jan

Get a fresh cup of coffee, take a deep breath and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Sucuri and Wordfence are a couple.

Aie, sounds serious: site is hacked..
I will not take one, but several fresh cups of coffee.
Thanks Andrew for your prompt reply!

I will start directly with the cleaning and than ass the recommended security measures.

    Hi Andrew,

Just to give you an update.
I followed the instructions mentioned in the guide, and also the recommended security measures. (Only the 2FA authentication is more tricky to implement.
    Any advise?)

The webhosting company did a security scan and had found some infected files to be cleaned. I’m now cleaning these files and I’m optimistic that issue will be solved today.

    Kind regards
    Jan
