Partial refund results in demotion – how to reinstate?

  • I am new to S2 so I apoligize if this has been covered elsewhere.

    We offer a discounted first month membership and then a recurring monthly amount. I issued a partial refund via Paypal for the first month (halfway through the month) and then the recurring amount for the member was booked.

    However they were unable to login the forum

    Their user shows the message

    Paid Subscr. ID @ time of demotion: paypal -?XXXXXXX

    How do I reinstate the user? How should I have issued the credit?
