“Participants Database will require PHP version 5.6 in future releases, you have PHP version 5.3.29. Please update your php version, future versions of Participants Database may not run without minimum php version 5.6.”

According to rescueencore.org/phpinfo.php, I am running PHP 5.6.21. What in the heck am I missing to get Participants Database to see the correct version?

The best explanation I have for the is that somehow php is reporting a different version number to the plugin. Do you have some kind of cache on the server? (if so, clear it) Was the php version change recent?

Yes, the version change was within the past week. I asked about the cache and the hosting company reports that there is not one in play for PHP. Is there any chance that I never cleared the notification at an earlier date and then it stuck around after I changed from 5.3 to 5.6.21? That’s the best explanation I can imagine right now. I’ll keep an eye on it, but it’s not a big deal at this time.

Yes, thanks, if the problem persists, let me know. If you communicate with your web host about this, let them know that the plugin is using the PHP_VERSION global to determine the version number.
