• What is the best way to set up wordpress if I have a partner that I’m working on the site with? Should I create two different users and will we have the same plugins/features and everything shown to us? Also, can we both work on the site at the same time? Or if one of us say does a post and saves it while the other person is working while their save overwrite the other person’s post? Help is much appreciated! Thanks!

  • Should I create two different users and will we have the same plugins/features and everything shown to us?

You can create two account with “Administrator” status and they will have equal access to the dashboard. What they see will be identical.

Or if one of us say does a post and saves it while the other person is working while their save overwrite the other person’s post?

WordPress works pretty well in multi-user environments. If you happen to be working on the exact same post at the same time, it will display a warning message.

Okay so I really shouldn’t worry about us overwriting each other? What if they’re two different posts?

if they are different posts then you have nothing to fear as any user who access will see the newest version of the post. No one will overwrite anyone else. As you begin to work you will see how user friendly the WordPress really is, the guys who build it think about the same concerns as you and work to ensure the core functionality supports real world use such as multi users editing. ??
