When I go back from my calendar to a previous post, i often see part of the post omitted at the end and just a […] where the missing part is located. Scrolling back without using the calendar gets me the whole post. It seems to have something to do with the permalinks that I set up. These have the structure:
    /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

If the URL has a permalink address, the post will be abbreviated.
    Blog is at https://www.netadvewntures.biz/wordpress
Any clue how to fix this?

That’s by design: on archive view (e.g. monthly and or category archives) the_content template tag is replaced by the_excerpt
    see more: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Template_Tags/the_excerpt

Is there any way I can change this so the category and monthly archives show the entire post? Is that advisable? Looks like everything is still there, it’s just that no one can get to it if they search by category or date.

They can get it if they click on the title of the post – because the title is a permalink to the full view of the post.
If you ask me it is not advisable to change it: when I click on a category or monthly archive view I want a quick overview of that section, not a 10 miles long page with 50 posts displayed fully ?? If the titles and the excerpts are exciting I’ll click to read the full article.
On the other hand in the next few minutes somebody will jump in telling that I am wrong and they prefer to have all the posts displayed fully in a category view…
For me the archives view with excerpts is logical, for other it isn’t.
    De gustibus…

However, to change it, you have to open the archive.php (not the archives.php!) in a text editor and replace the_excerpt with the_content.

Thanks – yes, clicking the title gets the whole thing. I didn’t realize that. Solved.
