pass dropdown value to shortcode in other html-field?

    Hello all,

    I have to migrate away from a discontinued forms plugin and look at wpforms to be migrated to. I hit the follwoing road block:

    Can we use the value of a dropdown element to be used in an html field’s shortcode? The user is supposed to select a city and the value/Parameter behind is instructing a shortcode to display additional information, from which the users futher inoput depends on. So far I failed to achieve this. I know there are these brackets: {Field Name:id:value}

    How can I put the value of the selected dopdown option into the html field, resp inside the shortcode in the html field as parameter?

    Your help is much appreciated, I am stuck right now.
