Password change notification for new users

Hi
I run a multisite wordpress system where I offer blogs to others.
however recently when a new user signs up in my system, he immediately gets a notice for password change (email subject ‘Notice of Password Change [website]’) but nothing is changed and the password is fine and working.
what should I do to stop this? does it means something is wrong with my system?
