Password fields not visible on use admin page

    My password fields are no longer visible on my user admin pages. This is since the installation of the latest WP version. I can see the code in source view but not in the page. Any suggestions?

    I have tried deactivating plugins that work with that page, to no avail. I am a bit wary of closing down all plugins as this will impact the website, which has continuous traffic.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    I was sort of trying to avoid having to take the whole site down for maintenance, but I guess I have no alternative. I’ll get back once I have tried that.

    No one said anything about taking the site down. The site can continue to run whilst all of these steps are being undertaken.

    Unfortunately we historically use a number of plugins that manage page specific side menus etc., so I will try whilst leaving them active but may have to resort to closing them down also. On that basis I need to take the site down, albeit briefly during the quiet period.

    I am building a new site that takes advantage of the new sidebar menus options in the new WP, but that is a work in progress. ??
