password procted (yeah another one)

  • I also have the problem that when I type in the password on my post it leads me back to where I came from. I cant see any post at all.
    Ive tried pretty much everything that was mentioned. I cleared my cookies tried to remove the trailing slash, something I didnt even have.
    I just updated to 1.2, but dont worry I had the same problem before. Why is it doing that?

    Hi Kathie. I had the same problem with WP 1.02. I haven’t tried password-protecting posts since I upgraded to WP 1.2. Instead, I wrote a per-post user level restriction modification, allowing me to have truly hidden posts.

    Yeah but I want some people to be able to read them you know?
    Or does this only mean that people who can read the post have to register on my blog? Im not really liking that idea either.

    I think the issue comes down to how often you are going to post something that you want only a few others to read.
    If it’s a lot, then a completely protected directory is the way to go, using .htaccess
    If it is fairly infrequently, then possibly having only registered viewers is a better option.
    Did the original problem with not seeing your post get sorted ?

    No nothing got sorted. It still doesnt work for me.
