Hello – I’m using this plugin on a website and am also using the Members plugin. We want to restrict access to view the calendar only to people that are logged into the website and not allow it to be viewable to those that are not logged in. Is there a way to make this page / slug password protected? Thank you!

    Hi there @neilrosekrans,

Right now there is no built-in mechanism for this.

If you are an Events Calendar PRO user you can embed our calendar within a regular page, by using a shortcode, and you could then password protect that page.

However, even that may not be perfect since visitors could still navigate to the regular events page.

Certainly with some custom coding you could probably devise a nice solution for this, but I’m afraid that’s beyond what we can help with here in the free support forum. That aside, please do feel free to add this idea as a new feature request:

Hey Barry – thanks for the quick reply. Something I discovered, which is kinda cool, is that if you are using the Members plugin and you create events you can actually hide the entire calendar as long as ALL created events are restricted to logged in members.

Basically, I installed your calendar on the default slug. By default, the calendar is viewable. I then created a couple sample events and in the event settings, I set view access to Administrator (logged in) role only. I then logged out of the site, went to the Calendar slug page and the calendar was hidden along with message that I must be logged in to view it.

The Calendar will display as long as there is at least one event that is not restricted. But if all created events are restricted, the entire calendar will be replaced by a message about being logged in, etc.

So that fixes my issue as long as we make sure that every event we create, we make it restricted by role. Kinda cool!

    That’s a great note!

Hopefully that helps others in the same situation in the future, too ??
