  • I’m experiencing the exact same issue. I’ve deactivated all of my plugins and tested again but I’m still experiencing the same issue. I’ve also reverted to twentyeleven theme and the same issue persists.

Would we be able to get some feedback from some of you WordPress gurus? If we can’t get any help on the www.ads-software.com forum, where can we get it?

    Much appreciated.

Okay, so, I had the same problem and I trawled the forums and tried everything. Didn’t work.

And then I contacted my host on the off-chance it was a server-side issue. And voila, it was!

I’m with SurpassHosting and they recently did a maintenance/update and the modsec rules was changed, resulting in the exact error both jtinsky and wizard247 described. I talked to their support member and he had it fixed within minutes.

So, contact your server’s tech support and describe the problem – it should be a server side problem.

tjk911 thanks a ton for the update!

I spent several hours over the weekend trying to debug this issue.

I’ll contact our hosting provider and report back.

Yeah, I spent a good part of my morning trying to fix it too and stumbled upon this along the way.

    Good luck!

Excellent – I’ll contact them now. Thanks for the feedback.

My provider (3iX – I would never use them again) have come back with this:

Upon detailed investigation, we came to a conclusion that there seems to be a problem with the wordpress itself. We tried many tricks in order to fix this, but that did not help. So, we request you to please contact wordpress in this regards as there is no problem at the server end. There seems to be something in your Plugin or Theme. Hope you understand.

Not sure what the “many tricks” are, but it seems a case of passing the buck… ??

Well, waddayaknow? My provider came back again (a different person this time) and this was their response:

“We have again gone through your issue and found that there was an issue with “ModSecurity: Access denied”, now we have corrected your issue.”

After this, password-protected pages worked fine again. My advice, check with your provider and don’t get fobbed off.

    Good luck,
