• It seems as if password-protected entries are readable in RSS. Does anybody else has experienced this?

  • I guess this is intentional. I tested this with WordPress 0.72gold, and it showed up that the description of the post will be “There is no excerpt because this is a protected post.”.
This is perfectly ok in my eyes:

    • authorized users (who have the password) probably use a rss feed reader and want to be able to see password protected postings there
    • When visiting the corresponding link one will have to enter the correct password to see the post, so there is no “disclosure” of password protected information

Maybe I missed an important point. If so, please let me know.
    Bye, Mike

I think you’re right with your assumption. As soon as the password protection for an post is applied, no user should be able to read this post without having the correct password. As far as I could see this is the case at least in 0.72 gold.
    Bye, Mike

I know this entire issue is kinda old cuz we’re already at version 1.2.1 but I still have the problem that Passwort Protected Posts appear on the RSS feed.
    How could I fix that?

If you have a cookie on your computer storing the password then you will be able to see that protected post in the feed. Otherwise it just says “There is no excerpt because this is a protected post.”
So you’ve probably already entered the password before, and it’s stored on your computer as a cookie.
