Password Protected Page Issues

First of all, I used the builtin on the page editing to say I wanted to password protect a page. Then, when I tried to access the page, it wants a username. I have no idea what that would be. I have tried “admin” since that is my username for WP. That didn’t work.

So, I thought I’d change it from password protected to public which I did and updated the page. Now, no matter what I do, in any browser, etc., it still wants me to login in. I even made a new page and copied the text code to the new page and deleted the old.

No luck. Sometimes it won’t even let me edit the page without the login box popping up. How can I make this stop?????
