• Hi I need help with this blog I administer. The blog is password protected so only members can access it, and it has to be this way. However, members are having trouble uploading files, any files. When I try to upload a file a message says unable to create directory uploads, and it asks if its parent directory is writable by the server. I set the permissions to all folders, including the blog folder where the site is to 777. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

How is the site password protected, if it’s done on the server level then it maybe the way the upload manager works it’s actually being blocked by the web server, as it doesn’t realise its the same user as the one who was authenticated. To test, you may need to just take the password down, upload and then put the password back up to see if it works.

I password protected this blog a long time ago through the Hosting account with htaccess/WebDAV. I did disable the password and tried to upload a file but no success. Got the same message.
