password protecting a subdomain page

  • My base site is lushwebsites.com but I have a subdomain @ lushwebsites.com/4mulaevents AKA 4mulaevents.ca

    I’m trying to PW protect a page on 4mulaevents.ca, but it won’t work unless the address is https://www.lushwebsites.com/4mulaevents

    Instead, once I type the password, the page refreshes with the same empty password box.

    Do I need to change something in the .htaccess file?

    Please help
