password protection is lost with WPS hide login enabled

    Hi,

    We have an Apache-server running on Debian 9 with a site, which is password protected(password is setup in /etc/apache2/000-default.php).
    We are using PHP 7.0.
    If we enable WPS Hide Login, the plugin is working, but the site is now not password protected anymore.
    Is there any way to setup a password protected page on apache server with wps Hide Login plugin enabled?
