password recovery

  • Hi, i forgot my password to login into my blog and all the information I enter seems to be unrecognizable because I keep getting “wrong username” when I try to recover it. When I enter my user name i’m told I will be sent a new password. I did this early this morning I still haven’t received anything. Any help on this will be appreciated, Thanks,Pedro

  • Hi Pedro. If you have access to your hosting phpMyAdmin you can look in the user database and see what email address is being used to make sure you are getting it. Or just create a new admin user within phpMyAdmin. More information can be found in this article. Good luck!

    It was quite daunting going in there…But the thing is, there are only 2 email addresses i work with and when I get this message:”Check your e-mail for the confirmation link.” there’s nothing there.
    Then I get: “The password you entered for the username pbartholomaifoto is incorrect. Lost your password?” Then I go to “Lost your Password”.
    Get: “Please enter your username or email address. You will receive a link to create a new password via email.” If I enter my only 2 possible email addresess, it tells me it;s wrong.
    If I enter my username, it tells me: “Check your e-mail for the confirmation link.”
    Totally flabbergasted…

    If you look into phpMyAdmin (if your hosting account has that) and look at the wp_users table you can see what email address is being used for your account your trying to sign in under.
