Password Reset

  • Can’t reset user password via “Forgot Password” function. I can submit the reset request and I receive the email with the “reset password” button but when I click on it and am taken to the Reset Password page I get this message:

    Your password reset link appears to be invalid. Please request a new link below.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @rleach and @bonumadmin,

    What version of the Ultimate member you have installed on your site?
    This issue can be caused
    Do you use a caching plugin or server-side caching on your server?
    Please try excluding Ultimate member pages from the cache and see if it helps.

    I’m using ultimate member 2.0.50. How I can setup password strength? Now I have upper case lower case numbers and special character. I need any type characters free choise

    i have 2.0.52. i have cleared cache and deactivated both plugins that had caching. there is no server caching.

    I’ve experienced the same issue with the password reset tool. In fact, it seem to work about 50% of the time – as follows:

    User story: user requests to reset the password —> email with a password reset link sent and received —> user clicks the link, is taken to a password reset page, and is asked to provide a new password —> then one of the following happens:

    (a) password is reset successfully (about 50% of the time) OR
    (b) “invalid password reset link” message is shown (also about 50%).

    I’ve run a number of tests to confirm the above using a number of accounts, different machines and IP addresses. I’ve also tried d activate into the remaining plugins one by one and all together. The issue persists.

    Any insight would be much appreciated.

    I just deleted the plugin. Too much hassle.

    will it be response for that or I just need to buy another plugin ? Or create another topic?
    Problem1: change password strength. I need to make it easier.
    Problem 2: i need reset password fast and intuitive as in other websites: reset password>emaillink>typenewpassword>yourpasswordchanged successfully.
