I spent all day trying to find out why password reset emails stopped going through for some users and even if they did, included the invalid link. I even thought my domain was blacklisted and did tons of troubleshooting just to find out that the culprit was your plugin. I updated it to the latest version a couple of days ago and didn′t notice immediately that there was something wrong. I tried rolling it back to the previous versions but only its deactivation solves the issue. For most users, password reset emails bounce back with this error:

    host outbound.mailspamprotection.com [35.208.244.18]
SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data:
550 This message has been reported as spam by other users.

Is this going to be fixed soon?

This is the link that the bounce backs include: https://boostyourrussiancourses.com/?action=rp&key=47iZjjBcjOLlbFcF3vb3&login=behappyabroad%40gmail.com It goes to the blank page that says “Invalid password reset link”.

The only caching plugin I use is Siteground Optimizer and I disabled it for testing. I deactivated all plugins one by one and found that it′s Uncanny Toolkit for LearnDash that causes the issue.

    Hi @krismali,

I’ll follow up here from Facebook, but I did want to confirm that the spam message is unrelated to the Toolkit, you should follow up with your email provider, and for the invalid reset link it is very important that the password reset page be excluded from any type of caching. It would be helpful if you can also try setting up a password page that is not your homepage, confirming with your host that it’s excluded from caching, and then attempting a password reset on the dedicated login page.

Let us know how you make out.

To confirm, there isn’t anything we could fix here, it’s going to be an environmental or configuration issue. It’s most likely related to caching, perhaps not from a plugin, it may be at the host level.

My host is also siteground and have this issue since the past few days.
I contacted Siteground chat. All other emails ie new course enrollment, woocommerce emails are being delivered but not the passowrd rest.

SG told me no issues on their end or with their servers.

That correlation is interesting, thanks for the post. Are your emails going through Siteground as well (so not a transactional email service), and are you using the default password reset text? Are messages also bouncing as spam with the same message about similar messages being flagged as spam?

We ran additional tests on the original poster’s Staging environment and emails were delivered successfully (to gmail/G Suite addresses), but we didn’t test on the live site (results may be different).

It looks like the issue has something?to do with Siteground even though they assure that everything is fine on their end. I just switched to sending emails through Mailgun and everything seems?to be working fine. The issue with emails clearly wasn′t caused by Uncanny Toolkit for LearnDash even though it seemed so at the beginning.

Hi @krismali , thanks for the update! We use Mailgun ourselves for our WordPress sites and it works well–and at least you can see exactly what happens with your outgoing emails. I’m glad emails are being received again.
