• I recently attempted to reset my WP admin password on a site I have the basic iThemes Security plugin installed on. I received the reset link via email, but when I click it to set a new password, I am taken back to the initial WP password reset screen, which prompts me for my email address to reset the password again. I have the option to customize the WP login page URL enabled on this install and believe that might be the culprit.

In short, I am now unable to access the screen to actually SET a new password. I can confirm my password has been reset, as the old credentials don’t work. Looking for a way to set a new password so I can access WP backend.

    Thanks,

    Jonathan

  • I am having the same exact issue as soon as I updated to WordPress Version 4.4. I confirmed the issue is the iThemese Security plugin by deactivating it and it allows me to change the password just fine.

This is the same with trying to change the password in the backend through the profile, it appears to allow me to change it but it never actually changes.

joe704la – did you disable the plugin via FTP since you’re locked out? Or were you able to use another login? I’m tempted to disable via FTP, but since I’ve already changed the custom WP-admin URL and a slew of other security settings with the iThemes plugin am concerned it will only make matters worse.
