Hi there, just wondering if anyone can help as the developers can’t seem to resolve this.

Although space expands for them under the password reset field as you type your new password in, no hints appear (and this is not a font colour issue, there is no text there, only empty space expanding for the hints themselves) – this happens on the password reset page, and the my account page. We currently have the WooCommerce settings to auto generate a username and password on signup (if we change it when testing so people can assign their own password on signup, the hints will appear there).

The site is running WooCommerce, AutomateWoo and Avada, with a few other plugins, too. We have been able to disable all the other plugins to see if they are the cause of interference, and they are not.

But we cannot disable the other three as the site is live globally, and sends out info via email which we don’t want to upset.

We thought either someone may have come across this issue and/or may know CSS, or some other easy adjustment, which will force these password reset hints to appear. Or may know what other information we can provide which may help. We designed the site and we would really appreciate a hand on this one, thank you!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @dangergirl42,

Although space expands for them under the password reset field as you type your new password in, no hints appear (and this is not a font colour issue, there is no text there, only empty space expanding for the hints themselves) – this happens on the password reset page, and my account page.

The free WooCommerce plugin does not have any functionality included within it where you could configure password hints. It’s likely this particular functionality is originating from another plugin which you have installed on your site.

On the password reset page of WooCommerce, an email address is required and an email is the sent with a reset password link.

    https://propertysharemarketeconomics.com/my-account/lost-password/

The link within that email will then take the customer to the reset password screen in WooCommerce where they would enter a new password.

I’m not sure how you’re adding the password hints you referenced but it could be the plugin adding those is not functioning as it should or the WordPress theme you’re using is having trouble displaying those.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Con and Stuart,
thank you for attending to my query. I am sorry not to get back to you earlier but I could not find out how to get back to my question and have just been shown. I appreciate you taking the time to assist me. We are now back on track with this since our office closed down. I take it from what you have said, Stuart, that there are no default hints in WooCommerce or WordPress? I had thought that there were, based on other sites I have seen. The issue with the current site is none appear at all when you type a new password that is not suitable, it just bounces people back to the same screen with no error notifications or advice. I presumed this was an error of some sort, but if I follow you correctly, there is nothing there by default to assist people in either WooCommerce or WordPress, no notifications or password hints when it comes to a reset of a lost password or a reset in “my account”. This must be introduced with a plugin? I guess I am confused why there appears to be something trying to appear, though it is blank. Can you please confirm, should there be some form of notifications or hints appearing by default with either password reset option in WooCommerce/WordPress? Or by default do neither appear? Thank you, Paula
