Password Reset not working at all

Good day,

I have set up the whole plugin. Everything seems to be working all right. We are on the latest version.
But then, as it is normal, some of our users can’t remember/lost their password.
They request a new password, they get the email with the URL for password request, fill up with the form with the new passwords, get a confirmation and then are redirected to the login page.
The nightmare starts when they try to log in and they get a message saying the password they entered is WRONG! They start the process again and then the same issue… forever and ever.

We already removed all possible plugins, there are not cache related plugins installed at all, we have cleaned the user cache from UM. Yet the problem remains.

In our test, we tried and it seems like the password just never get changed at all. Is like if the change password process doesn’t have an effect at all.

Please help us with this. I have look around to every possible solution and nothing works.
