    The password reset email works fine. Users receive it, and are taken to the password reset page on the site. But when you get to the last field ‘confirm new password’, it cannot be filled in with more than one character, and it deletes the other ‘new password’ fields. At this point, you cannot reset to a new password. Any help on why this might be happening would be great.

    I would encourage anyone to register as a user on the site (top left), and then do a password reset themselves, receive the password reset email, and then walk through the steps to better understand what I’m talking about.

    I found a solution which works on my App Themes Vantage site, so hopefully will work for you too.

    For me the solution was simple. Install the “Configure SMTP” plugin by Scott Reilly and configure my SMTP mail server settings in this. This plugin is very old and this did concern me, but it seems to work very well. Hope this helps some others facing this very frustrating issue!

    Was your issue that you couldn’t type in the ‘confirm new password’ field, or that you were getting the error when clicking on the password reset link in the email? (Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid. Please try again.)

    I’ve had a few problems with email from Vantage which I’ve fixed in the last few days and I got confused as to which one we were discussing in this thread.

    The problem you were having with the password field, was a bug in the Vantage theme itself and was fixed by upgrading to Version: 3.0.3.
    Unfortunately I had to renew my support subscription for another year in order to get this update (which felt somewhat unfair), but at least it is working again.
