I’ve removed plugins, reset to default themes, etc and I’m still having this problem.

Customers are complaining they can’t reset their passwords. I tried it myself and sure enough, customers are receiving the “Password reset” email that contains a URL, however when they click they URL they aren’t prompted with the new password, and instead are brought back to the ‘reset password’ page with a the only option to put in the email address to reset the password. When they put in their email address they repeat the cycle over and over.

I’ve tested with and without the wp-mandrill plugin.

I’m out of ideas, please help.

After a day of pulling out my hair, I found out that the problem is with the new ‘Default Customer Address’ option in WooCommerce. If you select Geolocate Woocommerce appends a string to all urls ?v=XXXXXXXXXXXX. For some reason this breaks the password reset sections. Once disabled my customers are able to reset their passwords and enter a new password once the URL in the email is clicked.

I’ll mark it as resolved, but I think this is a bug in WordPress and / or Woocommerce

    Please open this ticket again…:

Even with Geolocate disabled my users are unable to get the lost-password email & are redirected to the main login screen. I sure hope Automattic (WP/Woo) will be able to address this any time *soon*!!

It might have smething to do with the fact I have a multisite. The top level is able to send the link, all the sub sites are not… Will this help finding the clue? :-/

Hi. Having similar problem. Stuck out of site, can’t use new admin password, so went into database created new admin, logged in gave both admins same password.. wrote the pw down, won’t work today.. back into database today..Email not working just after asking send password reset, a little circle with red line appears.. so not working.. this is insane! I have woo commerce, it was the next thing I was going to build on but no way now.. not sure what I can do..

As there hasn’t been a solution posted here, I’ll let you know that it is 100% woocommerce. I have the latest WP 4.5x and 2 websites are having the same problem.

Quick fix – If the site isn’t live yet, login and rename the plugin ( basically disabling WC). You’ll get the regular WP login screen and voila, password retrieval not a problem, plus all the other reset emails from WC came barreling through too. Sorry for the piggy back but if you have access to the files, this is a quicky way to get back in until you get it fixed.

    Good luck!

I wish that worked. I can apparently disable Woocommerce – I get back to the normal login/reset screens – but new passwords still don’t work and I’m locked out.

Anyone having a problem with Woocommerce please post to their support forum, https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/woocommerce
