thank you. now it seems (after creating a profile edit page), clicking on the lost password says I need to be logged in.

What have I done wrong please?

Please update (save again) the following pages: the “member-login” and the “lost passwor” pages from the dashboard, and also update the permalinks.

I tried to follow the thread above but could not get it to Restore Password to work. I get the same thing “Failed security check, expired Activation Link due to duplication or date.”
I have a Lost Password Page with shortcolde [clean-login-restore]
Everything works fine until I click on the link from the email I receive. It goes the a blank page with “Failed security check, expired Activation Link due to duplication or date.” What should the permalinks be set to for this plugin…

You only need to use same browser session, this is a feature of the WordPress core through the wp_nonces functions. Best security but sometimes not the best reliability.

In case others read this thread, you have to be on the same browser (Chrome/FireFox,Opera,etc) that you requested the restore password.
I was requesting the restore password on FireFox and viewing my email on Chrome. That does not work.
