Past events not showing on calendar

Actually just noticed that if I hit refresh on the month view, the past events show. Any ideas what is happening?

Similar issue here as well, all previous months, starting at December 2013 plus all previous months events are showing a blank calendar. Our client wants this to be visible on their restaurant venue, for reference. If this is not an option, is there a way to not show previous months, and to only allow current and future months to be visible (instead of just a blank calendar)?

Hopefully we get an answer or I may have to find a different calendar. I use it on a municipal website and need to see old events because they link to City Council Agendas amd minutes, which we must keep visible

Hi cbridges, sorry to hear that. Can you provide a little more information to help us get a sense of what is happening here?

• Are the events still present when you view the list of events admin-side?
• If you deactivate all other plugins and switch to a default, unmodified theme do you see the same problem?
• Can you share a URL so we can see this first-hand?

@janaobx please do feel welcome to monitor this thread, but if the answer/direction/pace doesn’t suit you then as per the forum welcome it would be best to create a new thread of your own, even if it does seem like a very similar problem.

– The events are still present in the admin-side.
– When using unmodified version of 2013 Theme, the past events do show on monthly calendar. I currently am using modified version of Dejavu theme from mysitemyway.com

Basically, when in monthly calendar view no events show for the previous months unless you hit refresh.

I certainly see the problem – and I do appreciate mysitemyway.com are a popular vendor. That said, for issues integrating with a premium theme it would be more appropriate to seek help from the vendor – especially as the problem doesn’t seem to affect other themes.

I just upgraded to version 3.4 of the plugin that came out yesterday and it solved the problem of not being able to see past events on the calendar….Thank you! However, with that being said, it was something with the plugin and not my theme causing the problem. I have thought that some of the other issues I am having with the plugin were theme related and not plugin related…but now I’m not sure.

If you would like to see an example, we just noticed it on one of our sites:

If you click on previous events, it will say “There were no results found.” But if you refresh the page, it shows past events. Strange!
This also happens when you try and use the “Events From” feature, and also when you navigate to a single event page, then hit the back button on your browser. Any ideas based on these pages?

UPDATE! It did seem to be working but is no longer working. In calendar view (month) no events show in months other than the current month, unless you hit refresh. Also, when you click the previous or next month link at bottom of calendar it appears to stay on current month unless you hit refresh. WordPress did an automatic update to 3.8.1….don’t know if that has anything to do with it.

@cbridges we have the same issue still after the update and we did not update to 3.8.1, we are still on 3.8. Must be something else.

I’m wondering why it would load on a page refresh and no on the first load. I’t very strange stuff. I can only think that it is a compatibility issue with a theme or plugin.

Quite possibly both – with many themes and plugins stacked together we ultimately have a complex beast on our hands.

Here on the free support forum, ultimately we have to come back to asking if there is a problem under default conditions (ie no other plugins or themes running). If there is we can certainly investigate further. Even if there isn’t and there is clear evidence of a bug on our side we are happy to investigate, but I’m not entirely sure that is the case at this point.

I agree with you that it may be a combination of the theme and plugin (or combination of plugins). Since others are also having the same issue (or sounds like same problem) I’m just trying to figure what in a theme would cause the issue. I’ll keep trying to figure it out.

We are going to move a copy of our site with this issue into a development environment where we can debug things like this. We will let you know if we find anything.
