Past events not shown correctly

Dear team,

I have page where 2 shortcodes are placed:
1. future/upcoming events for 2020 – working fine
2. past events for 2020 – not working properly.

I would like to show only events, which are already past and only happend in 2020 (do not want to see past events in 2019).

I have following configuration:
events time: Past
Start date: 2020-01-01
End date: 2020-12-31

Unfortunately, result is not what I would expected – I can see all upcoming events instead of past events.
It would be good to inform user about no past events e.g. “There are no past events currently”.

Is this a bug or wrong configuration on my side please?
