    My work has several different weekly events we post on our Events Calendar and lately one specific weekly event has been staying on the calendar after it has finished. It is not set up as a reoccurring event, each week is set up individually. I’ve confirmed the dates and times are correct in the backend, but for the last two or three weeks when I check the day after the event and it’s still on the upcoming events list showing the previous day’s date.

    It’s only happening for our Dome@Home events, not for any of our other events. I’ve combed through the backend of each event this happens for and can’t find anything out of place.

    (Disclaimer, we are working on an outdated version of WordPress and that could very well be the problem, but this only started occurring a couple weeks ago and it’s only this one type of event.)

    Wolf here from The Events Calendar. I am sorry to hear you are having trouble.

    It is highly possible that this is due to the outdated WordPress version. It may have then been triggered by an update to another plugin, ours or not. Are you able to update WordPress? Are all of your plugins and themes up to date?

    If you can get everything up to date and this still happens it will be easier for us to help troubleshoot this.

    Hi @mandraagora – At this time we are not able to update our version of WordPress and our plugins, though we are working towards updating our entire website. It does seem odd though that if it’s triggered by a missing update it’s only effecting the one event. We have several other events every week that are working properly and removing themselves from the upcoming event calendar once they’re over – just not this particular steam of events.

    I work alongside Wolf in support here at The Events Calendar and wanted to share a few other issues that could be at play here, specifically:

    As @mandraagora mentioned, kindly apply the updates and check again, to let us know if this resolves the issue.

    Alright. Well I figured I’d try here in case they were any work arounds! I’ll just manually remove the events for now. We aren’t able to update anything at the moment at risk of loosing our site because everything’s too outdated, so it’ll have to wait until we revamp the whole thing.

    You’re welcome!

    If I may suggest cloning your site and applying the updates on a staging environment, you’ll be able to see if this resolves the issue without affecting your live site ??

    Our legacy code will be fully deprecated in February 2022, so you still have a bit of time.

    I’ll mark this as resolved for now, but we’re here if you need more help during the upgrade!
