My client has several editors that type a report in Word and then copy and paste portions into a web page. When copying from Word into the web page, the page is changing the font and size using span tags. The entire paragraph is in this new “Calibri” font and not following the CSS at all.

I deactivated all plugins and tried one by one (even with them all deactivate it still did this). Cache was cleared on all computers the editors used. Still the problem exists. They are on IE 11.

I could not recreate this from my office using IE 9, even with the text in Calibri in the Word Document.

    Any suggestions?

    thanks,

  • This may seem overly simple but could they right click and paste as text or, using the WISIWYG editor, click on the paste from Word icon and use the built in functionality?

There no longer is a Paste from Word icon in the current WPress. It automatically should be changing font pasted from Word to what is dictated in CSS. That is the problem. I am trying to not make the client paste into text editor and then copy and paste from there into WordPress.

    thanks

Pasting from Word, as you’ve already figured out, brings all of it’s cruddy styling with it. I ran a search in the plugin repository for “Paste from Word” and received these results.

There is still a paste as text button available. That works. Here’s a screenshot

If that doesn’t help, let me know and I’ll tag some heavier lifters than I.
