Pasting HTML-formatted text breaks back-end page

Our site shipyardartists.com includes 250+ user-edited pages built around a Gutenberg block editor within a Beaver Builder page layout. Occasionally a user will paste HTML text into the block editor that breaks one of the Beaver Builder blocks, apparently because the pasted text includes an open HTML tag pair or a tag that Gutenberg does not recognize (it happened once with

, for example, in an earlier version of Gutenberg).
Since the damage affects all 250+ users pages at once it’s necessary to restore an earlier backup, causing all work done in the meantime to be lost.
Is this a known issue with the block editor? Is it one I can prevent beyond warning our users not to import HTML-formatted text?
