• Hi,

Since the latest WordPress update when I past content from a Word document into a WordPress post it loses all formatting and pastes a chunk of run on text in one block.

Previously, it would carry over the formatting including paragraph breaks.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

  • I just set up a brand new 6.3 site to test: default Twenty Twenty-Three theme and no plugin installed.

And I’m unable to reproduce your problem.

When I copy and paste paragraphs of text from Microsoft Word (both 2016 and 2019), I don’t lose any formatting, and the paragraphs are placed in individual paragraph blocks.

So this must be something in your own WordPress environment that’s causing this.

    Hi George,

Many thanks for doing this, it’s a great help. It’s ruled out one possibility that I would have otherwise have concentrated on.

    Much appreciated!

Hi Adam (and others who may have found this thread)

I had exactly the same problem, and have just traced it to the CoBlocks plugin.

    Cheers,

    Hi Crowley,

Great info, thanks. I ended up rolling back WordPress to 6.2.2 which solved the issue so must be a clash between 6.3 and the plugin.

Hopefully it’ll be fixed in a CoBlocks/WordPress update.

    Cheers,
    Adam

No worries – I reverted to Twenty Twenty-Three as per George’s post above then went through the plugins one by one. It’s definitely an issue with the 6.3 upgrade.

Seems we’re not alone; there’s a few others having the same problem!
