Is this still an issue, or can I mark this thread as resolved?

sorry I had to re add the button
    here’s the link

If I paste this link in Facebook I get a choice of 3 images from the member gallery, and it posts exactly like the preview.

If I use the share button, I don’t get a choice, however it does display a preview image from the gallery. But, when it gets to Facebook it’s always the user profile image.

    Thanks!

You should have gotten an error about a missing og:image when editing that post / page.

Did you follow the Setup Guide and define a default image?

The following FAQ should help explain how WPSSO selects / finds images: https://wpsso.com/codex/plugins/wpsso/faq/how-does-wpsso-find-detect-select-images/

Let me know if that fixes your issue.

Yes it’s still an issue however it’s unlikely it will be resolved since I’m not sure why there’s no image tags, a default image won’t help. I read the FAQ but it doesn’t explain how to get image tags, at least not that I can understand.

Does your post have a featured image?

Did you get a warning about image dimensions when editing that post?

They’re buddypress activity posts, so no on both.
after further testing I discover that the result is inconsistent, using a button to share to fb, sometimes there’s an image, other times not, sometimes I can select the image in the preview, other times not.

The Free version of WPSSO does not integrate with any 3rd party plugins. When those plugins use WordPress features like the media library, attached / featured images, post IDs, etc., then it doesn’t matter, but in the case of BuddyPress, it’s not well integrated at all. I even had to write a special integration how-to for Pro version users: https://wpsso.com/codex/plugins/wpsso/installation/integration/buddypress-integration/

Yes I saw that info. I think it will be easier to make all activity posts into regular posts with featured images and get rid of Buddy Press. Thanks anyway.
