Paths to mysqldump and mysql

  • Path To mysqldump: /usr/bin/mysqldump
Path To mysql: /usr/bin/mysql

    MYSQL dump path does NOT exist. Please check your mysqldump path under DB Options. If uncertain, contact your server administrator.

    Lester, according to my Web host, these are the correct paths to mysql and mysqldump. Yet, wp-dbmanager does not recognize them.

    We’re at a standoff here, and I’m going to have to accept my Web host’s word that they know their own servers. So, the ball’s in your court.

    I’d like to keep your plugin. Do you think you can make this thing work?

  • Just ignore the error and try to backup, it should work if your path is correct and you have the permission to execute the file. It is not really possible to 100% determine the path of mysql and mysql dump.

    Read though the forums https://forums.lesterchan.net/index.php?board=11.0 this issue has been discuss many times.

    Thanks, Lester. I ran the backup and it worked fine.

    If this is the case, why not just remove the path fields from the config page? It’s better than displaying alarming errors in red that indicate the script is not properly configured.

    I think I will change the message to blue instead of red and perhaps change the text a little.

    Ok, it seems like I bump into the same eroor messages. I make the website locally on my mac through MAMP but I have no clue how to obtain this path.
    I backed up as mentioned above and in spite of the RED error messages a GREEN message said the db was backed up.
    If it is really this simple, get rid of the warnings, they scare me.
