    Hi,

I’m going to be away next month and I don’t know what the best way is to go about pausing my member’s subscriptions.

If I change the renewal dates for my members, will it also be picked up on Paypal’s side? What is the best way to make members essentially skip being billed for a month?

    Thanks

    Hi @kayleighthorpe,

Unfortunately, automatically doing this is not currently possible, but this is an already tracked feature and I’ve also added your request to our development list, so it might be implemented in a future version, but we can’t estimate when that may be.

Now, If your subscription plans are automatically recurring subscription plans purchased through PayPal, then there might be a workaround for what you’re trying to achieve, but it will be a manual one.

First, you need to go to your site’s Dashboard -> Paid Member Subscriptions -> Members page, hover your mouse cursor over the member (on which you want to apply these modifications), and click on the Edit Member link, once you are on the Edit Member page click on the “Edit” button that’s next to the subscription. You should now see the Subscription Logs page of that member (that page should look like this). From this page, at the bottom of the page copy the ID related to “Payment Gateway Subscription ID”.

Now log into your PayPal account and go to this page: https://www.paypal.com/billing/subscriptions (where you will find all the PayPal subscriptions that you have). On this page, you will need to search for the ID copied from your site, after you find the user’s subscription, you can click on the “3 vertical dots” (the setting functionality), from where you will have the option to “Pause Subscription”.

Now on your site, again from the Subscription Logs page, you can leave the subscription Active in this time period if you wish your users to still have access to what that plan offers from your site or you can set it as Expired so that they lose access.

After you activate back (unpause) your PayPal subscription, you will need to make the appropriate changes to the Subscription Status from your site (again from the Subscription Logs page of that user) and still from there, you will need to modify the Expiration date so that it’s a new one which coincides with the new Next Payment date, from the PayPal Subscription (which should appear in the PayPal subscription page after you activate back that particular subscription).

The above steps will need to be done for each user you wish to apply these changes to.

    Regards,
