    Hello,

I am finalising my dog walking and pet services business, where i also have an online store selling pet related products. I have a charitable inititive with a local animal rescue where i would like to allow my customers to purchase relevant products from my online store to ‘Paw It Forward’ (donate said product(s) to the animal rescue, with the animal rescues address set as default at checkout. I was thinking a radio button or something. Does anyone have a solution or suggestions for this?

    Many thanks

    Stacey

  • You could use something like WC Fields Factory – it will let you add a radio button/checkbox to all the products – and show the selection in the cart/order emails too!

You can add a description to the selection to give details of the shelter either on the product page or in a popup etc

    Hi @ontheball1,

Good question here. And just to clarify, these products could be purchased for the customer or they could be donated to an animal rescue (more than one location)?

If that’s correct, how do you imagine the process working? For example, the customer could split their cart to be delivered to their address and donate some products to the rescue? Are there prompts on the individual product, and the cart as well?

Lots of questions to clarify how you’d like it to work, thanks! ??

    Hi Ryan,

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes that’s correct. My products could be purchased (once I have a solution) for my customers and/or for the animal rescue, so different locations.

Really as long as the customer can see which products are going where, and I can see which products are going where (I receive the order then I put it through to each supplier), it would work.

That’s what I’m looking to do, is add a radio button or similar which would then allows the customer to opt to donate/paw the product forward.

Please do let me know if I can supply any more info as I’d love to add this initiative to my online shop.

@ontheball1 – I think adding a custom checkbox to each product with a ‘Donate this item to a local shelter’ is the easiest way to go. It will still handle inventory and you will be able to see when editing the order later which items were donated.

One user mentioned WC Fields Factory, another option is Product Add-Ons(official plugin). https://www.woocommerce.com/products/product-add-ons/

    Hi,

I recently made a post requesting advise on the following:

“I am finalising my dog walking and pet services business, where i also have an online store selling pet related products. I have a charitable inititive with a local animal rescue where i would like to allow my customers to purchase relevant products from my online store to ‘Paw It Forward’ (donate said product(s) to the animal rescue, with the animal rescues address set as default at checkout (although this isn’t compulsory, as long as the customer can see what they have selected, I will then advise on my website that all Paw it forward products will be send to the rescue, and as long as I can identify what has been selected as I then pass the order details to the suppliers)). The shop and all its products are of course for my customers to purchase for themselves too. I was thinking a radio button or something. Does anyone have a solution or suggestions for this?”

I was recommended WC Fields Factory plugin. My question is rather than the customer selecting x amount of items from the drop down, then selecting whether they wish to paw all/some/none of said product forward, then typing in how many are for the paw it forward in a text box, is there an easier solution?

Thank you in advance and please do let me know if you’d like me to explain anything further.

    Many thanks

    Stacey
