Pay by check is only in pro version, but can we set up pay later?

    I know that the “Pay by check” addon is only available in the pro version, unfortunately, but is there a way we could hook in with functions to allow a user to opt to pay later? And still record all their membership info, level, etc?

    “Pay by check” is really the only thing we need from the pro version. Great plugin, but cash is tight at our non-profit, and if there’s a work around, we’d love to try it.

    Hi @jamminjames , thanks for reaching out to Paid Memberships Pro.

    The option to allow a customer to Pay By Check is in the core plugin as well – the Add On just allows you to give users the option to pay by check as a second option on the checkout page.

    Because our plugins are GPL licensed, the Add On is available, only the automatic updates and support won’t be provided for it. You can read more about it here: https://paidmembershipspro.com/free

    As the paid Add On has been mentioned though, I’m going to mark this topic as resolved now as we cannot support it on these forums.

    I appreciate that you can’t give support for the pro addons, but could you please give me a hint as to how a customer could submit the form without payment when there is no pay by check option on the checkout page?

    You say “the option to allow a customer to Pay By Check is in the core plugin,” so I’m just wondering how to access it.

    You can set the default gateway to Pay By Check by navigating to Memberships > Settings > Payment Gateway & SSL. This doesn’t allow customers to choose between a card or check during checkout though – only using the Add On will help achieve that.
