What’s the point of that “Pay →” link in the order admin page? I see it when I create orders manually as an invoice. I just noticed that link and thought it would take me to a page where I could manually record a payment, as though a customer just gave me their card. I click that link and it takes me to the checkout page with an error message of, “That doesn’t appear to be your order.”.

First question…why can’t the store admin see the orders of others? For me to do so, I have to log out of my account and log into their account. Seems redundant for the admin.

Next question…why doesn’t it work logically? Logically as in an admin page where we can manually record a payment using the built in store gateways.

It was a request to allow admin to copy a link to send to the user.

WC doesn’t facilitate manual payments. Do this via your payment processor, if supported.

So…basically it is a pointless feature. In the very least, poorly implemented UI-wise given the intent.

Well, if it were pointless it wouldn’t have been requested, but I agree it could be clearer in the UI.

By pointless, I meant redundant given the “Actions” already available in WooCommerce. With a small mod made into the functions file, you can add a direct link to the invoice. Then just resend the customer invoice via actions. That seems more logical UI-wise rather than having to log in, copy the link, then email manually.

I’m sure there are other cases vs email. I’ve renamed it in master anyhow so it doesn’t just say “pay”.
