Since the last update to WooCommerce on 9/14/2020, users are paying for products marked as both variable and downloadable, but the payment is stuck in processing (not moving on to completed), payment is being captured by payment processors (PayPal or Stripe),but the download permissions are not being given. I’m BEYOND frustrated. Any ideas?

    Hi @edenbooks

I just tested on my site with a virtual/ downloadable product (paying with Stripe) and the order was marked completed:

This kind of problem is usually caused by either a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.
    ?
The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Yeah, no. Should have added this happens randomly. I can have 500 complete, then 2 not, then 4 complete, then 60 not. This site is ginormous. Testing in Storefront is not feasible. Created staging site and continuing to have problems. Reached out to theme developers, have had ZERO help with Woo tech support via email. Something broke with the updated WooCommerce plugin. EVERYTHING was working until that update rolled out on 9/14.

    Hi @edenbooks

Because I cannot reproduce the issue with WooCommerce core, the possibility of the issue being caused by the core plugin can be ruled out. If the issue started after updating the site, it could be due to conflicts with other plugins not working correctly with core.

If this is only happening randomly, I’d recommend taking a look to see if there are any errors logged around the times when orders are not marked completed correct to see if you can determine the cause.

If you haven’t already, I’d also recommend reaching out to your hosting to see if they have any server level logs that could provide you with more insight as to what could be causing this random oddity.

    Hi @edenbooks,

It looks like you have a ticket open with our escalated team on this issue, so I’m going to go ahead and close out this forum thread. Please definitely keep in touch with us via that ticket so we can keep all the information on your site consolidated there.

    Thank you!
