I received a SEPA Direct Debit, but that payment method is not selected in the settings. We don’t want direct debits.
It’s not shown in the checkout, yet the client paid through direct debit.

We used to accept it, but over a year ago we decided to drop direct debits.

    So how is that possible?

Just a thought: this is a client since long time. It may well be that (I’m not sure!) she paid in the past for a subscription (through direct debit).
But even then, switching the payment method off must be handled properly for payments from that moment on.

    Hello eddypiv,

Thank you for contacting WooCommerce support.

I understand that you received a SEPA Direct Debit payment even though the method is not enabled in the settings or shown at checkout.

This seems to be related to your payment gateway. May I ask which payment gateway integration are you using? I recommend reaching out to their support for further assistance.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us again if you have more questions or concerns.

Can you explain to me why Stripe would process a payment as direct debit, if it’s not delivered as such by the plugin that delivered the payment instruction – Woocommerce?

It’s not correct to refer me to Stripe without looking into your own kitchen, as it’s Woocommerce who runs the checkout and delivers to Stripe. And if it were Stripe, even then it’s up to Woocommerce to discuss with Stripe how that would be possible with the interface between Woocommerce and Stripe.

I’m more then willing to share information for such investigation.

    Thanks.

    Hello eddypiv,

    Thank you for your reply.

To clarify, I am not referring you to Stripe.com. I asked about the plugin you set up to integrate WooCommerce and Stripe so I can investigate what is happening in the backend.

Please share your site’s System Status Report with me so I can review your site setup.
You can paste it into https://pastebin.com and share the link here.

As it’s Woocommerce who runs the checkout and delivers to Stripe.

Please note that WooCommerce core does not offer Stripe integration by default.
For this, there are plugins that offer payment method integrations.

Looking forward to your response. ??

Zubair. that makes sense. The plugin I’m using for Stripe is from Stripe, so indeed I need to contact them.

    Thanks.
