Payment gateways test mode

The test mode only means that a gateway will be used like a normal payment, except that the payment will be “fake” in the sense that no real bank accounts will be debited or credited here.

You’ll want to read a bit on how to set that up with Wallet, assuming you have an old enough account to do so (Wallet is set to be discontinued on March 15 of this year…thanks Google! So if you just setup the account, you may not be able to do that)

With Wallet being discontinued, are you adding another ‘free/inbuilt’ payment method to BD to replace it?

We are. It’s going to be Authorize.net. Existing gateways will remain as premium modules.
