Payment Method Null

  • Hello,

    We have your plugin installed and it works almost all of the time. However we are experiencing an intermittent issue where a customer enters their payment information in the form and after submitting it, the wheel just spins and nothing happens.

    Looking at orders in Stripe after this occurs, they are marked as incomplete because payment method was not supplied in the data posted to stripe. Payment method is null in the json sent to stripe.

    What can cause the payment method to not be passed? Shouldn’t there be some sort of error returned to the user? What causes the loading wheel to continue spinning indefinitely? Does the plugin expect a callback from Stripe?

    Again, this is difficult to diagnose since it doesn’t happen all the time.

    We are running the latest version of WordPress and the plugin.

    Hi, judging from your comment above, the best step to take is to enable Enable Debug Logging. Next time this issue happens again, please check the log file. Report back with your findings.

    Debug logging has been enabled during our troubleshooting process. There is nothing in the debug logs when this issue occurs.

    There are many successful transactions being logged. And when we purposefully enter invalid card information (trying to reproduce the intermittent issue) then errors are being logged.

    But again, when we get the behavior of the spinning wheel and payments being stored in Stripe as incomplete and the payment_method being posted with a null value, there is nothing being logged in the debug log.
