I keep getting the error on subscription payments:

“Subscription payment failed. Payment method was not saved at PayPal. Order status changed from On hold to Failed.”

This is happening continuously and never used to happen. Please tell me what’s going on and what I can do to fix this. Thanks,

    Hello @northernbeacheswebsites

To better judge what could be causing this, we are interested in a copy of your WooCommerce system report and your latest PayPal Payments log files.

The system report can be accessed here:
WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support

You can copy the log files from here:
WooCommerce > Status > Logs > select “woocommerce-paypal-payments-[…]” in the dropdown and click on view.

You can share it privately with us from here:

Please include a link to this thread.

    Regards,
    Femi.

    @femiyb Hello

I’m having the same error, do you already have a solution?

    Thank you.

The PayPal merchant account must be enabled for Reference Transactions to be able to save a PayPal account in the Vault (this involves Billing Agreements).

So for now, certain features (like Vaulting) may require Reference Transactions. But PayPal Payments will get additional features early next year to expand the availability for subscription applications.

Stay tuned for more details with the next update(s).

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

Good to hear. For now I have had to stop using PayPal because of this issue as it was causing too many headaches. But I would like to use PayPal in the future because my clients often request it.
