Payments Not working after update with new checkout

Like other users, I followed the instructions to reconnect to Stripe and Enable the new checkout experience.
Unfortunately, the new checkout does not work, and the logs have the error:Error: The information for creating and confirming the intent is missing the following data: payment_method.
I enabled the legacy checkout and it worked again. I’m not the only one with this issue so there’s obviously an problem which needs to be resolved in the plugin.
